The GNWT requests an extension to submit the DAR addendum in October 2025.

In response to the Mackenzie Valley Environmental Impact Review Board’s (the Review Board) January 23, 2025, ‘Directive to the GNWT to provide and analyse mitigation for the Mackenzie Valley Highway Project, Government of the Northwest Territories’ (PR318), which instructed the GNWT to “...clearly describe options for mitigating impacts…”, GNWT provided the Supplemental filing; Socio-Economic (Table 1) and Biophysical (Table 2) Mitigation Tables for the Mackenzie Valley Highway Project (EA1213-02).

The Mackenzie Valley Environmental Impact Review Board (Review Board) held a community session in Rádeyı̨lı̨ Kǫ́ (Fort Good Hope) on April 9, 2025. Review Board staff prepared a draft community session report summarizing comments Fort Good Hope community members shared about the proposed Mackenzie Valley Highway Project.

Parties have until May 16, 2025, to comment on the draft community session report and let the Review Board know if any changes should be made.

The DAR Addendum deadline has been moved from the end of March to April 11, 2025.

1999 Environmental Scoping Report for the Mackenzie Valley Highway Extension from GNWT. This document was referenced in GNWT's answer to Pehdzéh Kį First Nation's question #2 from the technical sessions regarding earlier alignment studies (PR297 GNWT Responses to PKFN Questions from Technical Sessions, p.3). This study and subsequent engineering and environmental studies completed by the GNWT since 2010 informed the currently proposed route alignment.

Correspondence between Pehdzéh Kį First Nation (PKFN) and the Review Board. The letter outlines that PKFN has not yet shared information regarding their land use, sensitive locations, and preferred alternative route because of confidentiality concerns.
