The Review Board held an information session on Aug 28 for the technical scoping sessions on Sept 16-18. The note to file provides a summary of the meeting and the Board's presentation is attached.
The Review Board will host a meeting on Thursday, August 28, 1:30 to 3:30 pm, to describe the technical scoping session, ask parties what topics they are interested in addressing at the scoping session and discuss logistics.
The Review Board will host community scoping sessions in September including:
- Tulít’a on Tuesday Sept 9
- Délı̨nę on Wednesday Sept 10
- Tsiigehtshic on Thursday Sept 25
- Inuvik on Friday Sept 26
The Review Board will also host a technical scoping session in Yellowknife on Sept 16 – 18.
This notice of proceeding describes the next steps for the scoping phase including the review of a draft Terms of Reference for the Operations EA and a Scoping document for the Closure and Reclamation EA.

The GNWT is writing to Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated to: Invite participation in the environmental assessment process for the Project; Initiate formal Consultation; advise that the GNWT is relying, to the extent possible, on the Review Board's process to assist in fulfilling the GNWT duty to consult, and if appropriate, accommodate; And to identify the main contact person
The second letter describes the GNWT and Government of Canada (GC) coordinated consultation process for this EA.
GNWT letters to: Inuvialuit Regional Corporation, Gwich’in Tribal Council, North Slave Métis Alliance, Nahanni Butte Dene Band, and First Nation of Na-Cho Nyäk Dun.

Review Board staff met with developer to discuss the Board's proposed process for the early stages of the environmental assessment.
